This is my very time of year. I love the crisp mornings, the Indian Summer afternoons, the smells of fallen leaves on the ground and the beautiful quaking aspens! For my Saturday Sky picture I went for a walk around the mile circle I live on. I ended up sitting in an aspen grove for an hour. I was so mesmerized by the smells and colors around me that I just didn’t want to get up and walk home. Whenever a breeze kicked up, the aspen leaves came fluttering down around me. Everything around me declared the glory of God and I took so many pictures that it was hard to choose just ONE. So, what do you think? Can you beat that brilliant blue sky? Oh….and a little high altitude trivia for you – the higher in altitude you go, the deeper blue the sky is.

  1. I’ve noticed from previous pics on your blog that you are on the opposite side of Pikes Peak than my sister. I am pea green of the view both of you have every day. Those trees are gorgeous.

  2. *sniff, sniff*

I miss Colorado! At least it’s cooling down here… lower 80’s today.

  3. Beautiful picture!! Our leaves are beginning to change, but now the weatherman says we could see some 80’s back in the forcast this week. I’m really liking these 60’s we’ve been having (the wool socks have been on my feet all week!!!)

  4. ok, so my colorado homesick husband took us on a long, long, long drive in search of aspens today. we found a few small stands hours away. less than 10 trees kind of small. he would shout at us all to look. it was pretty sad… if you wanted to send me a few leaves in the mail, we would all be really happy in our home. 🙂

  5. Gorgeous photo! October is my favorite month. I just love it when the trees start to turn color, and the weather gets brisk and chilly at night.
