Monkey Sock Swap THREE

What?  Please don’t tell me Rebecca has organized ANOTHER round of Monkey Socks to be swapped!

Another Round?

Yes, here we go for the third time round and it is not too late for YOU to join us!

Sign-ups will be going on until the end of August.

Come on over to the Monkey Sock Swap blog and see what we are up to!

Monkey Sock Swap THREE Questionnaire

The basics:
Do you consider yourself a beginning sock knitter, an intermediate, or have you been doing this so long you could probably knit a pair in your sleep?

Yep, I admit, I could probably knit a pair of socks in my sleep!  In fact, if I could that would be terrific because there are too many socks I want to knit and not enough time!

The measurements:Shoe Size:   7.5-8
Foot circumference:   8.25
Foot length: 9.25

Yarn Preferences:
What colors do you love?

Reds, burgundies, greens, autumn colors

Do you prefer solids or variegated?
I think I am in a solid colored mood this week.  But, if you would like to knit my monkies in a varigated so it is more fun for you that will be just peachy-keen!  To knit any of the Cookie’s other patterns I would prefer a solid color.

Do you prefer wool, cotton or acrylic yarn?

Since I live in the Rockies, wool socks are a standard part of the daily wardrobe.  Cotton is too scratchy for me and I can’t even fathom acrylic socks.

What colors would you never wear?   Although I love pink …… it looks horrible with my skin tones.  I wear the warmer tones of the color spectrum.

What are your favorite brands of yarn?

I have so many but Socks That Rock and Cherry Tree Hill are top on my list these days.  I also like Lorna Laces Shepherd Sock, Louet Pearl Gems, Koigu……………………

Are there any new brands you would like to try?

Colinette Jitterbug

Cookie A. Patterns:
Which of her patterns have you already knit?

Only the Monkey Which pattern(s) would you like to knit and don’t already own? Mona, Flicker, Twisted Flower…..and, although I think all these would look best in a solid, I think Pomatomus would look fabulous in one of the Cherry Tree Hill semi-solid colors!  Or some other subtle shaded variated yarn.

Other pertinent information:
Would you be willing to have an international Monkey Pal or do you prefer one in the US?
 all monkey lovers welcome

Do you have any allergies?   to dust and mold

Will your knitting be exposed to smoke or animals? a teeny non-shedding toy poodle

Are you on Ravelry yet?  If you don’t mind having new friends, what is your Ravelry name?

Oh yes……..come be my friend! socksformum

  1. I sent in a request to be included in the upcoming round, but I haven’t heard back yet. Did my email become lost in cyber space?

  2. Perhaps a moment for a rousing round of “no more monkeys jumping on the bed!” :~)))

Actually, they’re wonderful socks. Haven’t gotten around to making them yet myself, but maybe someday…I’ve barely recovered from SAMKAL3! Gots to do some sweater knitting!
