Pay It Forward Exchange

I first saw the PAY IT FORWARD idea several weeks ago and thought it was a wonderful idea thinking it a great way for us to show how much we appreciate those who leave comments on our blogs.

When I first started blogging, I found it fun to receive comments on my blog but through the years I have learned that blogging plays a valuable place in my life.  I live somewhat isolated in the mountains and cannot get together with my friends in Colorado Springs as much as I would like to because of the distance.  But, you guys have become the ones that are almost a daily part of my life.  I have gotten to know you through your blogs and through the comments you leave.  I start every morning with a cup of coffee and work my way through Bloglines.

Let me tell you about it, these are the instructions:

“It’s the Pay It Forward Exchange. It’s based on the concept of the movie “Pay it Forward” where acts or deeds of kindness are done without expecting something in return, just passing it on, with hope that the recipients of the acts of kindness are passed on. So here’s how it works. I will make and send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment to this post on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I do not know what that gift will be yet, and it won’t be sent this month, probably not next month, but it will be sent (within 6 months) and that’s a promise! What YOU have to do in return, then, is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.

I will now Pay It Forward to you THREE, I wonder who you will be?! Please, be a PIF! You will enjoy it just as much as we do!”

And, remember…you have 6 months to get your gifts done! Come on, you know you would love to be one of my angels. Then, one day, but you don’t know when….you will get a gift that I have made especially for YOU!

Please remember, you don’t have to knit or crochet to participate, anyone who can make a nice handmade gift is welcome to join )

There is a Ravelry group!

  1. OK – I think I’m up for this… I’ll post the same thing on my blog in the next day or two. Thanks! This should be fun!

  2. You are part of my daily cup of jow and Bloglines routine as well. Tomorrow morning I was invited to go have coffee with a group of ladies who have been meeting each Friday morning for the past 15 years! They invited me, so I’m reading tonight instead of in the morning. (I’m so excited…about PIF AND coffee with “real” women!)
    Count me in!!

  3. I keep just missing these. Darn. Maybe I just need to play on my blog without being part of one of these…start a new string I guess…

  4. I have loved this idea ever since I have seen it. I am involved in it myself. I will have to look for the group on Ravelry.
