In the rhythm of the needles there is music for the soul
I went to the not-so-local yarn store to look around and to pet yarn this morning. I left the shop with a beautiful set of Lantern Moon Sox Needles in my favorite size (2.25mm) and some Kaffe Fasset yarn in the landscape color effect called ‘Fire’. Kaffe Fasset is an inernationally know textile and knitting designer. His inimitable sense of colors have brought him international fame and he is known as the ‘color artist’ and as “Guru of the world of textile and color”. I already know that the beautiful colors in this sock yarn will not be captured to their credit.
The yarn colors really aren’t in the Project Spectrum Fire Element color range, but since the yarn is named ‘FIRE’ I really think it will qualify. So, these will be called my Project Spectrum Fire Socks. I will use a plain vanilla sock which will be a good sock to knit on the flight back home.
I love the yarn and am not sorry I purchased it. But, unfortunately, since I broke my yarn diet I will no longer qualify for the TOP TEN STASH BUSTER prize.
Don’t you know, sock yarn doesn’t count as stash?! I think you should definitely still be in the running.
I have that same exact Fassett yarn boring holes into the back of my head as I type. I’m never going to get to it, am I? Getting so worn out on gloves!!!
Gorgeous yarn! It was worth the sacrifice. 😉
Well, you already have your prize…that gorgeous yarn! Love the little needle bag too. Enjoy!
I agree, sock yarn never counts! It was for Project Spectrum after all so it could be sock yarn and essential so that’s two reasons not to count it!. And who could resist those colours anyway?
It’s beautiful yarn, how could you not buy it. 🙂
The colors are gorgeous. I have been thinking of getting that yarn but trying to resist it. You will love those Lantern Moon sticks – they are lovely to knit with.
I’ve been wanting to make some socks in that colorway since it came out. Can’t wait to see your finished socks!
I have to admit that I didn’t think much of the yarn when you first posted it. I’m just not a huge fan of Regia. However, now that I see it knitting up, it looks very, very nice and I’m thinking that my boys would like socks like that. Very nice!
The colours of the yarn are lovely. I’m looking forward to seeing your socks finished.
Ooooh! I love your new socks!!!!
the picture could be mine. I have the same yarn, purchased at Stitches Midwest and the same pretty bag of needles, purchased on the internet a year and 1/2 ago and never opened.
I’m eager to see your finished project.
