When do I use a Russian Join? When I knit lace, always. I learned the hard way when a weak split splice worked itself loose in a lace shawl. It was NOT a pretty picture.
By the way, KnitPurlHunter has excellent tutorial videos and great knit-a-longs to learn new techniques. I highly recommend her!

Oh thank you! I have asked different people about joins on lace projects, and have got such varied answers. I am going to try this one on my next project. 🙂
Please do try it. When you stretch lace out to be blocked those joins need to be tight or they might break.
