SocksforMum Shop Update

I will be updating my Etsy shop tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 ET with Wonderland project bags.  These are all pre-orders that will ship within a couple weeks.  There will be a limited number in the shop so hop on over!

Episode 11 – A Handsome Pig

Things I talk about in this Socks-for-Mum podcast:

Sleepy Kitty

When I saw the Sleepy Kitty set in Making Magazine I knew I needed to knit it for my granddaughter.

Susan B. Anderson, the brilliant designer behind knitted toys, designed this special kitty who comes with her own sleep sack.

I had a blast knitting Sleepy Kitty.

She is knit with some super soft acrylic yarn I bought at JoAnn Fabrics just in case ‘real’ wool is too scratchy for granddaughter.  And also, just in case Sleepy Kitty needs a bath at some point.

I obviously had a bit of fun posing Sleepy Kitty in various sleep positions.  I noticed she seems to have the similar sleep habits to my own.

I especially love the whiskers on Sleepy Kitty, don’t you?

Episode 10 | Addi Flexiflip Review

In this episode I review the new Addi Flexiflip needles.  I’ve also had an attack of ‘start-itis’ and went a little crazy casting on all the things.  I can’t seem to resist pattern sales and stranded color-work and when you combine the two it can be dangerous.

Episode 9 | Cable Flare Compensation

In which the Mum talks about UFO Thursdays, sewing makes and the long awaited cable flare compensation swatch.

Episode 8 is Up!

In which the Mum tells the story of the Guernsey Potato Peel Hat and talks of other knitting adventures.

Episode 7 is Up

In which the Mum talks about fiber goals in 2018 and decluttering her house.

Episode Six is Up!

This episode has lots of Wonderland chatter in it.

Cheshire Stripe Sock

My rendition of the ever popular scrappy sock pattern is the Cheshire Stripe Sock.  I love the look of a scrappy sock but hate weaving in all those ends so instead pick only four colors to knit with…..fewer ends to deal with!

This pattern is written for both the Magic Loop method and for double point needles. It is a top down pattern with an afterthought heel. I’ve added a link in the pattern to my YouTube video on how to knit jogless stripes.

The individual pattern price is $2.50 but comes as a freebie if you sign up for the 2018 Wonderland Sock Club that I mentioned in my last post.  I hope you consider joining us next year as we knit six fun patterns.
